Christmas Celebrations

Christmas celebrations took place today, with help from their families children brought a small plate of food to share with their friends.
The tables were set and everyone sat together to share this special time, once everyone was seated we sung 'We Wish you a Merry Christmas" to friends sitting at the table with us.
As you can see, there was lots of delicious treats that were enjoyed by all!

This food is delicious

This was a great way to celebrate this exciting and special time of the year with others before we have some time away from Kindergarten, children were encouraged to share with those sitting around them about their plans for the Christmas break.

Whatever it shall be that you are doing while away from Kindergarten this summer, we would love for you to take some photos to bring in at the start of next year to share with others.

Musical Visitors

To start our last week of term we had a visit from some friends of ours, who have a special talent - ukulele playing! Together the group played and sung Christmas songs for us, and of course we couldn't help but join in.
Away in a Manger
Jingle Bells - children join in by singing along and playing their bells
Faliz Navidad - especially enjoyed by Demian
Silent Night
Little Drummer Boy
And many more....
We were so lucky to have our local musicians come along and share some Christmas cheer with us. It was wonderful to see our children enjoy this concert and be the audience after their Christmas singing last week, swinging to the music, tapping their hands on their legs and playing their imaginary drums.
Once the song, music and dancing was over children thanked their visitors by performing a Christmas favorite - Tick Tock, Tick Tock (a High 5 Christmas song) to their guests.

Ra Whanau Celebrations

We are coming toward the end of our 2013 year and several children are moving onto school at the beginning of the new term next year.  We have a birthday celebration for each child and they plan the day along with their family.
We are always in awe of what families share with us and Innes birthday celebration was no exception. It was to be a surprise for Innes!
Innes was excited to have Mum and Pippa to come to Kindergarten with him but also Grandad because he was going to cook the 'snorkers' (sausages) and in Innes words "Grandad cooks a good snorker! " and they were!
But the biggest surprise was chugging down the road and Dad grinning behind the wheel!
Innes was grinning and asked immediately if he could climb aboard and with the affirmative he took the wheel.  Innes had another trick up his sleeve too and turned to Dad and asked, "Can I?"
Dad nodded and Innes leaned over and pulled the string and Chugga Chugga let out a very loud toot.
So loud that peaple from near and far began to arrive with cameras and all!

Thank you very much to Innes and his family for a wonderful morning!
